Standard Work Period. The Standard Work Period shall consist of a consecutive seven (7) day, 168 hour period.
Standard Work Period. I. Traditional Schedule The average regular workweek for affected employees shall be 40 hours. The traditional schedule is five (5) workdays of eight (8) hours during each seven-day work period. In lieu of a traditional schedule, Police Lieutenants and Police Captains may work an alternative work schedule as approved by the Chief of Police. Employees working the special assignments of School Resources Officer, Gang Task Force, Narcotics Task Force, Traffic Enforcement Unit, and any newly formed special assignment necessitated by grants or other circumstances shall have a traditional schedule with the duty shift hours to be determined by the Chief of Police. Notwithstanding the above, the employees temporarily assigned to the Gang Task Force and the Problem Oriented Policing Team, may work an alternative work schedule including the 4/10 plan, consisting of four (4), ten hour (10-hour) days worked consecutively per week in a two (2) week pay period, on a temporary basis as determined by the Chief of Police. Employees assigned to the Investigative Section of the Hanford Police Department shall have a standard duty shift of 7:00 a.m. through 3:00 p.m. The duty hours are five (5) workdays of eight (8) hour shifts, Monday through Friday. Employees assigned to the Investigative Section and on a 4/10 plan shall have a standard duty shift of Monday through Thursday from 0700-1700 hours or Tuesday through Friday from 0700-1700 hours. Except as otherwise provided in this Article, the standard forty (40) hour FLSA workweek is Saturday to Friday (i.e., the first moment of Saturday to the last moment of Friday), with a standard workday of eight (8) hours, and two (2) consecutive days off each week. Nothing in this section shall entitle an employee who is changing their regular schedule (i.e., annual scheduled bid, temporary reassignment, etc.) to consecutive days off during the transition to their new schedule.

Standard Work Period. I. A 48/96 work schedule shall consist of the following:
A. A duty shift will be a period of twenty-four (24) consecutive hours, starting at 0800 one day and continuing to 0800 the next day. Every day of the year is considered a normal duty shift except Thanksgiving and Christmas as defined in Section 2.05, Holidays.
B. Employees work two (2) consecutive twenty-four (24) hour shifts for a total of forty-eight (48) hours, and have ninety-six (96) consecutive hours off.

C. Fire shift personnel’s hourly rates of pay will be based on two thousand, nine- hundred and twelve (2,912) hours per year.
Standard Work Period. The work period for shift personnel is a consecutive 24-day cycle based on Section 7(k) of the Fair Labor Standards Act. The hourly wage paid to an employee covers 2,532 hours of scheduled shift work each year. The work period for 40 hours per week employees is a consecutive 7-day cycle.
Standard Work Period. The full-time hours of work for the Facilities Manager and the Maintenance Supervisor shall be a total of 2080 hours annually consisting of 40 hours per week, of four ten-hour days generally between the hours of 06:00 – 16:30, Monday - Friday inclusive. The schedule may be modified by mutual agreement between the Employer, the Employee, and the Union.
Standard Work Period. The standard work period for city employees shall be as follows:
A. Fire Department Safety and Non-Safety Non-Shift Personnel The standard work period for safety non-shift personnel shall be forty (40) hours per week.
B. Fire Department Safety Shift Personnel The standard FLSA section 7(k) work period for safety shift personnel in the Fire Department shall be a 14-day work period based on a 48/96 work schedule which begins with the start of the A shift 48/96 schedule.
1. For payroll purposes, the 14-day standard work period shall be paid out as follows:
i. 112 regular hours (56 regular hours per week)

ii. Meal Time - 11:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
iii. Break Time - 9:00 a.m. & 1:30 p.m. (15 minutes)
