Common use of STATEMENT OF MUTUAL BENEFIT AND INTERESTS Clause in Contracts

STATEMENT OF MUTUAL BENEFIT AND INTERESTS. The Forest Service has a responsibility to establish integrated invasive weed management systems to control or contain undesirable plant species and to adequately fund an invasive/noxious weed management program on NFS lands (Federal Noxious Weed Act as amended, P.L. 93-629). Through the Federal Noxious Weed Act, Congress has directed the Forest Service to cooperate with weed control districts, state and local governments and local landowners in the management and control of invasive/noxious weeds. The County is interested in the management of invasive/noxious weed infestations and has been working with numerous private landowners, groups, County school science programs and Cooperative Weed Management Area members who are struggling to control invasive/noxious weeds in the Bitterroot Valley. It is therefore mutually beneficial, as well as beneficial to other landowners, to coordinate invasive weed treatment activities between the parties. In consideration of the above premises, the parties agree as follows:
