STATUTORY AND DECLARED HOLIDAYS. All employees who work under the platoon system described in Article (a) hereof shall be allowed time off with pay for six (6) periods of twenty-four hours in lieu of all statutory and other holidays permitted to other employees under this agreement. Emergency Communications Co-ordinators and Operators shall be allowed time off with pay for eleven (11) periods of hours in lieu of all statutory holidays and other holidays permitted to other employees under this agreement. holidays : All other employees shall receive time off with pay for each of the following New Year's Day Labour Day Good Friday Thanksgiving Day Easter Monday Remembrance Day Canada Day Christmas Day Civic Holiday Boxing Day and the birthday (or day fixed by proclamation for the celebration of the birthday) of the reigning monarch, and any other day declared by a competent authority to be a holiday. Whenever any of the above holidays fall on a Sunday, the next day following shall be in lieu thereof a holiday and the provisions of this section shall apply thereto. Should any of the said holidays fall on a Saturday, one-half of such employees shall be allowed a day off on the Monday next following such holiday, and the other half of such employees shall be allowed a day off on the second Monday following such holiday. The choice of Monday aforesaid shall be allotted according to divisional seniority except as may be otherwise required to ensure the efficient operation of the Department; provided, that if it is not practicable in the opinion of the Commissioner of Fire Rescue Chief or Deputy Commissioner of Fire Rescue Fire Chief to allow time off on the Mondays aforesaid, the employees concerned shall receive equal time off at a time mutually agreeable to the Department and the employee. When an employee works under the platoon system or as an Emergency Communications Co-ordinator or Operator described in Article hereof, leaves the service, he will be granted the following time off with pay in lieu of all statutory and other holidays permitted less the entitlement for any holidays taken during the calendar year he leaves the service:

When an employee works under the platoon system Chief of Police or as an Emergency Communications Co-ordinator or Operator described in Article hereof, leaves the service, he will designate. 5.02 a) Each Member working rotating tours of duty shall be granted the following time off with pay thirteen (13) days annually in lieu of all statutory the Statutory and other holidays permitted less Declared Holidays listed in Section 5.01, which shall be in the entitlement form of one hundred and four (104) hours, added to each Member's time bank on January 1st of each year. b) Each Member working rotating tours of duty shall have the choice of receiving pay for the lieu time at their regular rate, or taking the time off, or any holidays combination thereof, and shall advise the Chief of Police no later than December 15th of each year as to the Member's choice. c) Unless requested by the Member that Statutory or Declared Holiday lieu time be paid as it occurs, it shall be accumulated as a credit to the Member and may be taken during as a cash lump sum payment by December 15th of each year. 5.03 a) Statutory Holiday time off shall be granted on a seniority basis and shall be taken off in the year in which it is accumulated, on a weekly basis, based on a forty (40) hour work week, unless a special request is approved by the Chief of Police or his designate, and subject to the right of the Member to carry over a maximum of forty (40) hours to the following calendar year he leaves the service:year.
