Step Increase. Employees shall be granted an annual step increase on their eligibility date if the employee is not at the top of the salary range of their classification. Employees shall be eligible for step increases following the intervals of: (a) Annual periods after the initial date of hire until the employee has reached the top step in their salary range. However, should an employee be promoted during the first year of service with the Employer, the employee shall not receive this increase, but shall be eligible for increases in Section 3(b). (b) The first six (6) months after promotion and annual periods thereafter until the employee has reached the top step in their salary range.
