Strategies and Objectives. In support of the Century Agenda strategy to be the greenest port in North America, this project will maintain environmental cleanup of the Port’s property, while assuring that other responsible parties are paying their fair share. State and federal laws require elimination of unacceptable levels of environmental risk caused by the presence of contaminants in soil, groundwater, and sediment. From the perspective of the surrounding communities and the customers that we serve, the Port’s participation in site remediation is the hallmark of responsible environmental stewardship. Cleanup also returns contaminated land to a more productive use. In accordance with the Office of Social Responsibility (OSR) recommendations, small business participation will be considered in the evaluation criteria. This goal will likely be met through teaming arrangements.
Strategies and Objectives. Relocation of the antenna supports a project that is consistent with and necessary for the implementation of the Port’s Century Agenda goals that call for tripling air cargo volume over 25 years. This project supports the Aviation Business Plan strategy to operate a world-class airport by anticipating and meeting the needs of our tenants, passengers, and the region’s economy by expanding and modernizing existing on-airport cargo facilities.
Strategies and Objectives. This project will achieve the strategic objective of accomplishing cleanup of the Port’s property, while assuring that other responsible parties are paying their fair share. As a signatory on the EPA Order, the Port is legally obligated to do this work as directed by the EPA. The Port continues to carefully control costs associated with the effort to minimize overall economic impact.
Strategies and Objectives. Professional graphic design is needed to gain attention, build awareness, and develop understanding of the Port’s mission, vision, strategies, and objectives. Developing shared meaning between the Port and its customers and stakeholders, as well as other audiences, requires that communication materials are informative and engaging – goals that can be achieved with professional graphic design. Professional graphic design is needed to communicate compelling information to convey the Port’s role as a leading job creator, economic development engine, supporter of trade and commerce, and ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ of local environmental resources. Good design is a communications and marketing tool, just like words and photos. Professional graphic design is needed to build trust, enhance credibility, and improve transparency. Making it easy for people to find information through good design creates a sense of openness that says “we have nothing to hide.” Good web designers, for example, build websites to enhance searchability through search-engine optimization techniques. Professional graphic design is needed to create a unique and consistent identity for the Port and its lines of business.
Strategies and Objectives. A key Century Agenda strategy is to be the greenest and most energy efficient port in North America. Effectively addressing historical contamination is a key part of that strategy. Environmental remediation projects define and minimize to acceptable levels threats to the environment caused by the historical effects of industrial activity on properties acquired by the Port, by prior Port operations and by prior tenant operations.
