The Welfare Employment Representative agreement states The DFS will furnish clients with up to 3 appropriate outfits for job interview attire or for clients to begin or maintain employment. Under the MOU Dress for Success will also conduct one on one consultations and monthly dressing for success, grooming and appearance workshops.
2. MCDSS will provide participants with a Clothing Allowance in the following as needed: - One time clothing allowance including required uniforms and shoes up to a maximum amount of $150 per work activity - Job related safety equipment up when needed to secure or maintain employment or when essential for other assigned employment activities.
3. The district will assist participants in need of supplies and or books with a maximum allowance of $150 per work activity - Tools 500 when necessary to secure or maintain employment or for other assigned employment activities such as training.
4. MCDSS will assist participants in need of licensing or testing fees that are job specific and equipment up are necessary to secure or retain employment. The district will authorize a maximum allowance of $250 per calendar year300 for this purpose.
5. MCDSS will provide participants with a maximum allowance of $500 for the purchase of tools necessary to obtain, maintain, or resume employment
b. The district will use the following approach to assist those participants who need transportation to and from an approved work activity site, including any applicable mileage reimbursement rate, and the method used by the district to arrive at that reimbursement rate. Clients are referred encouraged to either seek and OTDA JOBS staff or accept employment, and are informed of the benefits of employment, as well as the supportive and transitional benefits available if become employed. TA Examiners explore the eligibility for diversion payments when clients apply for assistance. Employment Counselors from OWD and Catholic Charities reinforce with clients that TA is a Welfare temporary program, and their employability plan is their plan toward employment and self-sufficiency. Employment Representative Counselors use the comparison chart to conduct a supervised job search. Individuals that may show clients the amount of income they would have non-recurring needs of assistance are referred when they go to work, the appropriate case worker and one time payments of assistance may benefits they could still be provided in order eligible for an applicant to maintain employment(transitional benefits) as well as EITC refunds.
