SUBMITTALS; DESIGN REQUIREMENTS AND DISCLAIMER; ROLES OF PROJECT MANAGEMENT CONSULTANT Clause Samples

This clause defines the procedures and responsibilities related to the submission of design documents, outlines the design requirements, and clarifies the roles of the project management consultant (PMC). It typically specifies what types of documents or plans must be submitted for review, the standards or criteria those submissions must meet, and the process for addressing any deficiencies or required revisions. Additionally, it may include a disclaimer regarding the design responsibilities, indicating that the contractor or designer retains ultimate responsibility for the adequacy of the design, even if the PMC reviews or comments on submissions. The core function of this clause is to ensure clear communication and accountability in the design process, prevent misunderstandings about roles, and establish a structured review process to manage project quality and risk.
