Common use of Substance Abuse Program Clause in Contracts

Substance Abuse Program. i. Alcoholism and drug abuse are recognized by the Committee and the Association to be treatable illnesses. Without detraction from the existing rights and obligations of the parties recognized in the other provisions of this Contractual Agreement, the Committee and the Association agrees to cooperate in encouraging staff members afflicted with alcoholism and/or drug abuse to undergo a program designed to rehabilitate them. ii. If the staff member refuses to avail themself of assistance, and alcoholism or drug abuse impairs work performance, attendance, conduct, or reliability, discipline may result.
