Summer Assignment. (a) The supplemental summer instructional assignment, like that for the academic year, 95 includes the normal activities related to such an assignment as defined by the 96 97 98 99 100 101 102 103 104 105 106 107 108 109 110 111 112 113 114 115 116 117 118 119 120 121 122 123 124 125 126 127 128 129 130 131 132 133 134 135 136 137 138 139 140 141 142 143 144 department/unit and the nature of the course, such as course preparation, minor curriculum development, lectures, evaluation of student efforts, academic advising, research, and service, including, but not limited to, department, college, and university committee meetings. (b) The employee may be assigned reasonable and necessary non-instructional duties related to the summer instructional appointment prior to the conclusion of the academic year appointment.
