Supplemental Type Certificates. U.S. Supplemental Type Certificates (STCs) may be issued under the provisions of 14 CFR § 21.117 for approval of major changes to the type design of an aircraft, aircraft engine, or propeller which has been type certificated/validated by the FAA, when the UKCAA is the authority of the State of Design for both the product and the design change, and the UKCAA has issued the STC. (b) The FAA will develop the STC certification basis in accordance with FAA Order 8110.4, Type Certification and 14 CFR § 21.115. 3.0.2.2
