Supplemental Utility Potholing Sample Clauses

The Supplemental Utility Potholing clause establishes requirements for additional subsurface investigations to locate existing utilities before construction begins. Typically, this involves the contractor performing extra potholing—digging small, precise holes—to verify the position and depth of underground pipes, cables, or other infrastructure that may not be accurately shown on project plans. By mandating these supplemental checks, the clause helps prevent accidental utility strikes, reduces the risk of costly delays, and ensures safer, more efficient construction operations.
