Swing Shift Clause Samples

A Swing Shift clause defines a specific work schedule where employees begin and end their shifts at times that are outside the traditional daytime hours, typically overlapping both day and night shifts. In practice, this might mean an employee starts work in the late afternoon and finishes late at night, covering periods of high demand or facilitating continuous operations. The core function of this clause is to provide flexibility in staffing, ensuring that business needs are met during transitional periods between standard shifts and optimizing workforce coverage.
Swing Shift. Employees who regularly work on a full shift of eight (8) hours or more on swing shift as defined in Section 12.6.1 (Types of Shifts), which includes four (4) hours or more between the hours of 5:00 p.m. and 12:00 midnight, shall be paid their regular salary plus seven and one-half percent (7½%) of their monthly salary per month.
Swing Shift. Employees who work the swing shift shall receive an additional 20 cents per hour for all work performed during that shift. A swing shift is one that begins after 1:00 p.m. and ends after 6:00 p.m.
Swing Shift. A work day assignment which ends after 8:30 p.m. shall be compensated on the basis of $65.00 per month.
Swing Shift. (a) The working force on the day shift in manufacturing plants shall alternate with the working force on the afternoon shift on a regular basis as agreed upon by the Company and the Shop Committee. (b) The Company and the Union agree to discuss the extension of the provisions of (a) to the logging operations when requested by either party.
Swing Shift. When five (5) or more hours of a represented employee’s work shift, exclusive of the lunch period, are between the hours of 5:00 p.m. and 12:00 midnight, the represented employee shall be paid eighty nine cents ($.89) per hour for each hour worked in that work shift.
Swing Shift. A workday assignment which ends at or after 9:00 p.m. shall be compensated an additional five percent (5%).
