Teachers with Principal Designations. (Effective June 18October 22, 20202019, the following repeals and replaces clause 4.4 4.4. above)
4.4.1 A teacher designated as a principal shall enter into a series of term contracts for a period of up to a total of five (5) years, excluding periods of unpaid leaves of absence. Up to two (2) of these five (5) years may be on a probationary basis. Following the term contract maximum of five (5) years, inclusive of the maximum two (2) years probationary period, the School Division Employer must decide whether or not the designation will continue, and if it continues, it is deemed to be a continuing designation.
4.4.2 Any current principal who has had a term contract(s) for a term(s) of a total of less than five years on September 1, 2017 may continue under the term contract until the total number of years designated as a principal is five (5) years.
