Temporary Employees 3.3.1 A temporary employee is an employee who is hired for short-term work assignment which is not ongoing (i.e. normally 12 months or less and not extending beyond 24 months). The employee's benefits and working conditions are as per Article 34 (Temporary Employees).
Temporary Employee The term "temporary employee" as used in this Agreement refers to a bargaining unit employee who is serving in a temporary appointment for a specified period of time.
Temporary Employment Temporary service in a position immediately preceding certification to that position, without interruption, shall count towards satisfaction of the probationary period. It will also count toward benefits eligibility (without retroactivity for benefits) and pay progression requirements, provided the duties of the temporary and permanent assignments are the same.
Temporary Assignment Notwithstanding Article 2.04(b)(iii), Regular or Temporary Employees may be assigned to relieve others for additional duties.
(a) Where an Employee is assigned to temporarily replace another Employee who is receiving a Responsibility Allowance as per Article 16.01, such Employee shall receive an amount not greater than the amount provided in Article 16.01.
(b) When an Employee is assigned to replace another Employee in a higher paid classification for one (1) full Shift or longer, the Employee shall be paid an additional amount equal to the differential between the Employee's current rate of pay and the equivalent step for the more senior classification in which the Employee is relieving.
(c) When an Employee is assigned to replace another person in an out-of-scope position at a more senior level for one (1) full Shift or longer, the Employee shall be paid an additional $2.00 per hour.
Temporary Work 3.4.1 The Contractor shall have the sole responsibility for the design, erection, operation, maintenance, removal and repair of Temporary Work.
3.4.2 The Contractor shall engage and pay for registered professional engineering Personnel skilled in the appropriate disciplines to perform those functions referred to in GC 3.4.1 where required by Laws or by the Agreement and in all cases where such Temporary Work is of such a nature that professional engineering skill is required or prudent to produce safe and satisfactory results.
