Common use of Training and Retraining Clause in Contracts

Training and Retraining. In the event that the Employer should introduce new equipment, machines, apparatus or processes which require new or greater skills than are possessed by the employee affected, such employee shall be given a reasonable length of time, but such time period is not to exceed six months, during which time they may acquire the necessary skills. There shall be no reduction in this employee's rate of pay during the training period and no reduction of pay upon being reclassified in the new position.
