Training and Upgrading Sample Clauses
Training and Upgrading. The Employer shall make contributions at the rate of twenty-four cents (24¢) per hour for which wages are payable hereunder for each employee and Owner Operator/Dependent Contractor. When the Owner Operators/Dependent Contractors are working on a Flat Rate or Ton Mile Rate the Employer shall make contributions at the rate of two dollars and forty cents ($2.40) per day. Such contributions shall be submitted to the Teamsters Local Union 213 Training and Upgrading Programme and payable by the fifteenth (15th) day of the month following that to which they refer in accordance with Clause XVIII.
Training and Upgrading. Except where new employees are required to undertake training at their own cost as a condition of their being hired, where the Employer requires an employee to take training or upgrading, the Employer shall pay the full cost of training or upgrading, including required materials/books. Time spent in such training or upgrading shall be considered time worked.
Training and Upgrading. 41.01 The Board shall pay salaries and the costs of courses and course materials for Required-In-Service training approved by the Board.
41.02 The Board shall maintain its current policy in respect to job-related courses.
Training and Upgrading. 1. CROZER shall continue to contribute to the Philadelphia Hospital & Health Care District 1199C Training and Upgrading Fund a sum equal to one and one half percent (1.5%) of the gross payroll for all Employees covered by this Agreement who have satisfactorily completed their probationary period. Such payments shall be based on the previous month’s payroll.
2. Contributions so received by the Trustee shall be used to study industry manpower needs, including shortages in entry level jobs, upgraded positions and credential jobs; to develop career ladders and to subsidize Employees in training and when necessary, the costs of training in areas of manpower shortages. Such programs shall be administered under the Agreement and Declaration of Trust. The Trustees of such Training and Upgrading Fund, in addition to the monies received from hospitals, shall attempt to secure such additional funds as may be advisable from public or other private sources. In addition, the Trustees shall seek community cooperation in such programs.
3. The Trustees of the Training and Upgrading Fund shall be composed of an equal number of representatives designated by the UNION and the Employers. The Trust Agreement shall provide for block voting and for the resolution of any dispute or deadlock between or among the Trustees by Arbitration, as provided elsewhere in this Agreement.
4. Together with the periodic payments herein provided, CROZER shall submit regular monthly reports in such form as may be necessary for the sound and efficient administration of the Fund.
5. CROZER agrees to make available to the Fund such records of Employees as classifications, names, social security numbers and accounts of payroll and/or wages paid which the Fund may require in connection with the sound and efficient administration of the Fund or that may be so required in order to determine the eligibility of Employees for Fund benefits and to permit an accountant for the Fund to audit such records.
6. Employees shall be entitled to attend professional conferences related to their work on a reasonable non-discriminatory basis to the extent that funds are made available within a department of CROZER. If funds are depleted, CROZER shall continue its practice of allowing Employees time off with pay to attend these conferences at their own expense. Absences pursuant to this provision are subject to the discretion of the Department Head concerned and will not be unreasonably denied.
Training and Upgrading. 20.01 In the event that the Employer should introduce new methods or machines which require new or greater skills than are presently possessed, the present staff shall be given the opportunity where practicable to upgrade themselves through study courses or training. Such courses or training shall be conducted during regularly scheduled working hours. The Employer shall pay the cost of any approved courses or training.
20.02 The parties agree that it is to the mutual benefit of the Employer and the employee to improve the educational standards of the employees. Employees are entitled to no less than one (1) day in any calendar year. Accordingly when an employee is required by the employer to attend education courses, work related seminars or workshops; time spent in the training will be recognized as hours worked and will be paid accordingly to a maximum of seven (7) hours. Any time over seven (7) hours spent in the training and travel time will be accumulated as “flex” time and will be taken at straight time within the same pay period. Mileage to and from the training may be expensed. When an employee requests to attend education courses, work-related seminars or workshops; time spent in the training will be recognized as hours worked and paid accordingly to a maximum of seven (7) hours. Travel time will not be paid or accumulated, however, mileage to and from the training may be expensed.

20.02 The Parties agree that it is to the mutual benefit of the Employer and the employee to improve the educational standards of the employees. Accordingly, when an employee is required by the Employer to attend education courses, work related seminars or workshops, travel time and the time spent taking the above-mentioned shall be recognized as hours of work and be paid accordingly, with mileage to and from the course location. The Employer will reimburse the employee upon proof of successful completion of any educational course, work related seminar or workshop of the nurse’s choosing, which was pre-approved by the Employer. Payment will include the course costs and time spent in attendance at the course or workshop.
Training and Upgrading. A Crewmember shall receive at least seven (7) days advance notice of all ground and simulator training unless the Crewmember agrees to less notice.

Notices of available positions that outline the particulars of job opportunities which the Board intends to fill with Regular or Sessional Employees will be posted on notice boards at prominent locations at the University. Such notices will be posted for a period of seven (7)calendar days before the available position is filled. Where this is not practicable, the Union will be informed. Temporary positions exceeding six (6) months' duration will be posted under the foregoing procedure. Notwithstanding Clause the posting of such notice will not be required:
Training and Upgrading. Section 1 A Crewmember, except a new hire during initial training, who is assigned to a ground school training program involving five (5) or more days of training shall be given one (1) period of forty-eight (48) consecutive hours free of all duty with the Company during any seven (7) consecutive days assigned to such training.
Section 2 Each Crewmember shall review and be made to understand his or her performance and grading sheet at the conclusion of each training or check period. A copy of his or her training record shall be furnished him or her at the conclusion of each training course or check period. A Crewmember shall sign for the receipt of the training record.
Section 3 All training as defined in this Agreement shall be administered in accordance with the Company's FAA approved training manual(s) to all Crewmembers covered by this Agreement. The Company shall provide training in accordance with requirements for that position on that equipment type.
Section 4 Qualified bidders must be recommended by the Promotion Board prior to selection for training. Crewmembers that fail to qualify or be selected by the Promotion Board shall be notified in writing of the reason(s) for non-acceptance and recommendations for improvement.
Section 5 Providing a vacancy(s) exists, the vacancy(s) shall be filled by the most senior and qualified Crewmember(s) recommended by the Promotion Board.
Section 6 A Crewmember recommended for upgrading will receive training in accordance with the Company's training manual, and if the Crewmember fails to successfully complete all aspects of upgrading training, the Crewmember will return to the previously held position for twelve (12) months before being eligible for consideration for upgrading again. If the Crewmember is, after twelve (12) months, interested in attempting to upgrade, the Crewmember may then be awarded an existing vacancy in accordance with Article 12, Vacancy Bidding, and then attempt to upgrade again. But if the Crewmember were to be unsuccessful; in any second attempt, at any time, to upgrade, the Crewmember may be terminated.
