Training Away from Regular Seniority Block. Where the Employer requires employees to take training away from their seniority block, the Employer shall provide for all necessary expenses such as tuition, books, travel, meals, accommodation, or other legitimate pre-approved items. The employee shall be on travel status as per Appendix 5.
Training Away from Regular Seniority Block. Where the Employer is providing training that requires travel away from the seniority block, the Employer shall provide tuition, books and travel costs such as meals and accommodation allowances. The parties agree that weekends are not the appropriate time for training. However, when training can only be accommodated on a weekend, the employee and the supervisor shall work out a schedule, in advance, that provides for straight-time off (equal to travel and training). The agreed upon time off shall be immediately before or immediately after the course date(s).
