TRANSFER AND REASSIGNMENT PROCEDURES. (a) A “reassignment” is a change in the assignment of the member which does not include a change of location from that of the previously held position (e.g., a change in grade level within an elementary school or a change in teaching area/subject at a secondary building). (b) A “transfer” is a change in the location to which a member is assigned (e.g., a change from one middle or elementary school to another or a change from one high school to another or Linworth, or the converse). (c) As used in Articles 37 and 13 “Seniority” means the longest period of continuing employment (including approved leaves of absence and time spent in a RIF status) beginning with the date the Board of Education initially approved the issuance of a contract to a member. Seniority is not interrupted if the member is in the employ of the school district on both the last day of a school year and the first day of the following year.
