Tutorials. Graduate Assistants and Teaching Assistants who are assigned to tutorial sessions are normally paid with respect to the number of tutorial contact hours (or equivalent) they work per week. Each contact hour has a value of 32.5 hours (130/4=32.5) for a 13-‐week term, except in the case of a single one hour tutorial, for which an assistant will be for 35 hours. Each contact hour may include: the tutorial sessions, marking of essays (eg. 20 essays @ 30 minutes per essay); assistance with final exam marking (eg. 20 exams @ 15 minutes per exam); and meeting with the Supervising instructor. Pursuant to this model, if a Graduate Assistant or Teaching Assistant is assigned to and works: (i) one (1) one-‐hour tutorial, the Assistant shall be paid for 35 hours; (ii) two (2) one-‐hour tutorials, the Assistant shall be paid for 65 hours; and (iii) three (3) one-‐hour tutorials, the Assistant shall be paid for 97.5 hours; and (iv) four (4) one-‐hour tutorials, the Assistant shall be paid for 130 hours.
