Type Size. Each item to be published in the outreach newspaper is to be set and published with the same type font and column width that bidder will be using in the sample ad. Each item shall be preceded with words in black face type describing, in general terms, the purpose of the notice intended to be given by publication. Each item is to be set and published at no smaller than 6-point type, except that newspapers that do not use the Roman alphabet shall use an equivalent character size.
a. If the contractor plans any change which would affect the amount of text typeset per line (width of columns, typeset size, etc.), the Contractor shall notify both the Clerk of the Board of Supervisors and Purchasing in writing, two weeks in advance. This notification shall include a “revised” typeset sample in the new format and the proposed rate per line changes. Any price change shall be subject to the proportionate change up or down as compared to the original typeset sample on which the award is based. This means that the cost to the City for an advertisement published under the new format will be equal to or less than the price under the format specified in the bid.
