Types of Grievances. 19.2.1 A grievance may be one (1) of the following types: (a) Individual grievance: an individual Member grieves against the University; (b) Group grievance: two (2) or more Members join together to grieve against the University for the same or similar reason, or based on the same or similar event, transaction or decision; (c) Association grievance: the Association grieves against the University’s interpretation, application, administration or alleged violation of this Agreement; or (d) University grievance: the University grieves against an action of the Association.
Types of Grievances. (A) An Individual Grievance is a grievance initiated by the Union on behalf of an individual employee. (B) A Group Grievance is a grievance initiated by the Union on behalf of a group of employees similarly affected by the Employer’s actions. (C) A Policy Grievance is a grievance by the Union which may involve a matter of general policy or general application of the Collective Agreement. (D) A Union Grievance is a grievance which directly affects the Union. (E) An Employer Grievance is a grievance initiated by the Employer.
Types of Grievances. (a) Individual Grievance - a grievance alleging a violation of this Agreement affecting one Employee. (b) Group Grievance - a grievance alleging a violation of this Agreement affecting more than one Employee. Such grievances shall be initiated within 45 Working Days of the circumstances giving rise to the difference and will commence at Step 1 of the grievance procedure. A Group Grievance shall be signed by each Employee who is grieving and a member of the Union Grievance Committee. (c) Policy or Union Grievance - a grievance initiated by the Union on matters which involve the interpretation, application or administration of the Agreement in whole or in part. Such grievances shall be initiated within 45 Working Days of the circumstances giving rise to the difference and will commence at Step 2 of the grievance procedure with the Assistant Vice- President and Chief Human Resources Officer. (d) University Grievance - a grievance initiated by the Employer. Such grievances shall be initiated within 45 Working Days of the circumstances giving rise to the difference and will proceed to Step 3 by filing such grievance with the President of Unifor Local 5555.
Types of Grievances. Each formal grievance shall be classified as one of the following and shall not subsequently be reclassified: (A) an "individual grievance", which shall be one involving a single member and shall be initiated by the member or by the Association. If the Association initiates an individual grievance, the member concerned must sign the formal grievance. An individual grievance shall not proceed beyond Step III of the grievance procedure without the written consent of the Association; (B) a "group grievance", which shall be one involving more than one member and which by virtue of this Article can be presented as an individual grievance. It shall be initiated by the Association and shall name the members involved; (C) an "Association grievance", which shall be one arising directly between the Association and the Board concerning the interpretation, application, administration or alleged violation of the provisions of this Agreement, but which is not an Academic Status Grievance; (D) a "Board grievance", which shall be one arising directly between the Board and the Association.
