The majority decision of the board shall be final and binding on the parties. In the event the board reaches no majority decision, the Chief may implement the Chief’s decision, which shall be appealable through the grievance procedure. The employer will replace or repair damaged wrist watches up to a maximum of $50 and repair or replace prescription eyeglasses or other items at the discretion of the Chief of Police that are damaged through no fault of the employee in the performance of duty. Uniform Allowance. 11.1 A. The Employer agrees to provide two (2) winter and two (2) summer uniforms for each employee in the bargaining unit. A quartermaster system has been implemented for third pair trousers and a summer and winter shirt shall be provided to all members road deputies in addition to the basic set of uniforms. The uniforms shall consist of all of the bargaining unit except crime prevention officers. The employer shall provide items on the required uniform items to new employees and replace issued uniform items of any employee, which reasonably require replacement. 11.2 B. OPOTA certified dispatchers will be provided with the necessary deputy uniforms as stated in this section.

D. In addition to the uniform allotment above, the detectives shall be given a uniform allowance of six hundred ($600.00) dollars per year. Dispatchers shall be given a uniform allowance of fifty dollars ($50.00) per year.
E. The Employer shall provide at no cost to employees the employee, uniform-cleaning services for the cleaning or laundering, care and maintenance of clothing normally worn the uniform.
F. In addition to the above, the Employer shall replace at no cost to the employee any uniform or piece thereof which is damaged or destroyed in the line of dutyduty or scope of employment, unless the negligence of the employee causes the loss. Each uniformed employee shall have an annual uniform allowance of $700 per fiscal year payable on the first payroll cycle of the bargaining unit except crime prevention officersfiscal year, to purchase approved uniform and equipment items using vendors specified by the Village. Prior approval for the cleaning shall be received from the Department Head, which approval shall not be unreasonably withheld. Any uniform items or equipment assigned to an employee which require repair or replacement as a result of the employee’s wrongful act or obvious carelessness shall be replaced at the employee’s expense from a supplier designated by the Employer. Disputes by the subject employee as to the application of this section, including repayment schedules, shall be submitted flashlight within 30 thirty (30) days of the loss date of appointment.
Section 34.4. Any police officer leaving the department for any reason within a one (1) year period from the date of appointment shall reimburse the Township one-half (1/2) of all monies expended for the purpose of clothing for the party upon termination of employment. The Township shall be authorized to deduct from any pay or damage to a board consisting of two members appointed allowance yet due such employee any monies it advanced or paid by the Chief and two members appointed Township for the said officer's clothing. The officer shall also return all items furnished by the Guild President or designeeTownship.
Section 34.5. The majority decision of Plainclothes officers shall receive a clothing reimbursement in the board shall be final and binding on the parties. In the event the board reaches no majority decision, the Chief may implement the Chief’s decision, which shall be appealable through the grievance procedure. The employer will replace or repair damaged wrist watches up to a maximum amount of $50 and repair or replace prescription eyeglasses or other items at 900 per year. Reimbursements will be paid prorata to coincide with the discretion of shift bids in Article 20, with reimbursements for the Chief of Police that are damaged through no fault of the employee preceding bid period paid in the performance of duty. The decision of the Chief of Police shall be final first pay check in January, May, and not subject to the grievance processSeptember.
11.5 At the Chief’s discretion, uniform items that no longer fit because of weight loss or gain or changes occasioned by body building or other athletic activities will be altered or replaced at the employee’s expense

Uniform Allowance. 11.1 A quartermaster system has been implemented for all members of the bargaining unit except crime prevention officers. The employer shall provide the required uniform items to new employees and replace issued uniform items of any employee, which reasonably require reasonablyrequire replacement. The employer shall make such determinations. A committee to determine uniform attire for clerks will be convened in 2022.
11.2 The Employer shall provide contract-cleaning service at no cost to employees for the cleaning or laundering, care and maintenance of clothing normally worn in the line of duty. Each employee shall be allowed to have twenty-five (25) clothing items cleaned or laundered per work month. Additional cleaning and maintenance for uniform items shall be as authorized by the Employer.
11.3 All uniform items and equipment issued by the Employer shall be the property of the Employer. Upon termination of employment for any reason, employees shall return any Employer issued uniforms and equipment to the Employer.
11.4 The employee shall be held accountable for all uniform items and all other equipment so assigned to the employee by the Employer. Loss, damage or destruction of items of clothing or protective devices shall be replaced by the Employer where said loss was incurred as a direct result of the performance of the employee while on the job or as a result of an occurrence not due to the employee’s wrongful act or obvious carelessness.
