Common use of Union Affiliation Clause in Contracts

Union Affiliation. All new employees shall report to the Union office before beginning to w ork and register, and m ust become m embers of the Union w ithin th irty-one (31) days after th e ir em ploym ent date and rem ain in good standing as a condition of em ploy­ m ent consistent w ith the provisions of the Labor M anagem ent Relations A ct of 1947 as amended. All employees covered by this A gree­ m ent w orking at the ▇▇▇ e this contract is signed m ust acquire m em bership in Local No. 655 w ithin th irty-one (31) days of their em ploym ent date, or the effective date of this contract, w hichever is later, and rem ain m em bers in good standing for the duration of their em ployment, con­ sistent w ith the provisions of the Labor M anagem ent Relations A ct of 1947, as am ended.
