UNION SECURITY AND DUES CHECK-OFF. 9.1 The Employer shall deduct from the pay of all employees on the first regular dues deduction date after completion of thirty (30) days of employment the amount of the monthly membership dues of the Union. 9.2 Deductions shall be made from the payroll period at the first of each month and shall be forwarded to the Secretary Treasurer of the National Union not later than the 30th day of that month, accompanied by a duplicate list of names of all employees from whom the deductions have been made. The Union shall keep the Employer advised of the name and address of the Secretary Treasurer. 9.3 Before the Employer is obliged to deduct any dues under this Article the Union must advise the Minister and the Employer by providing thirty (30) days notice in writing signed by the President and Treasurer of the Union, prior to the appropriate payroll date on which the amount of the new regular monthly dues are to be deducted. The Employer will ensure that the necessary steps are taken to effect an adjustment in payroll deductions. The amount as advised shall continue to be the amount of dues to be deducted under this Article until changed by a further written notice to the Minister and the Employer signed by the President and the Treasurer of the Union after which such changed amount shall be the amount to be deducted. 9.4 The sums deducted under this Article shall be accepted by the Union as the regular monthly dues of those employees who are, or shall become members of the Union and the sums so deducted from non-members of the Union shall be treated as their contribution towards the expenses of maintaining the Union. 9.5 The Union agrees to indemnify and save the Employer harmless from any liability or action arising out of the operation of this Article. 9.6 The Union assumes full responsibility for the disposition of any sums deducted from the wages of any employee and remitted to the Treasurer of the Union under this Article.

UNION SECURITY AND DUES CHECK-OFF. 9.1 Every employee within the scope of this Agreement, who is a voluntary member of the Union or who hereinafter becomes a member of the Union, shall maintain his membership in the Union as a condition of his employment. Every employee entering the bargaining unit shall, at the date of entering the bargaining unit, sign an ap- plication for membership card. The Employer shall agrees to deduct the monthly union dues each month from the pay wages of all employees who are liable for such dues under the terms of this Agree- ment, and to pay the same to the Manitoba Government Employees’ Association on or before the first regular dues deduction date after completion of thirty (30) days of employment the amount day of the monthly membership following month. The Union will notify the Employer of any changes in the union dues of the Union.
9.2 Deductions shall be made from the payroll period at the first of each month and shall be forwarded to the Secretary Treasurer of the National Union not later than the 30th of the month. Provided he shall not be responsible for any errors or omissions or subject to any penalties for failure to com- ply with this Article, the Employer shall provide to the Union on the day of that each calendar month, accompanied by a duplicate list of names the names, addresses and telephone numbers of all employees from whom hired during the deductions have been madepreceding calendar month, along with the department into which they were hired and the date of hiring of same. The Union shall keep Dues will be checked off during leave of absence and during the periods of sick leave, provided that the Employer advised shall not be responsible for failing or omitting to check off such dues. Persons whose positions are excluded from this Agreement shall be permitted to perform work similar to those employees within the bargaining unit where this is for experimentation, instruction or for resolving emergencies. Should an employee be promoted or transferred to a position outside the bargaining unit and he is returned to the position he held within the scope of the name Agreement within a period of three months from the date of pro- motion or transfer, he must pay the appropriate Union dues for the period that he was out of scope. Union local officers and address stewards may visit em- ployees for the purpose of investigating complaints and the administration of the Secretary Treasurer.
9.3 Before Collective Agreement but only with the Employer is obliged to deduct any dues under this Article the Union must advise the Minister and the Employer by providing thirty (30) days notice in writing signed by the President and Treasurer prior of the Union, prior to the appropriate payroll date on which the amount Supervisor(s) of the new regular monthly dues are to employees involved.
