UNION SECURITY AND RECOGNITION. 2.01 This Agreement shall apply solely to employees in the bargaining unit for which the Union is certified under the Labour Code of British Columbia Act and shall be binding on the Company and the Union and their respective successors and assigns. 2.02 All full-time regular and part-time regular employees, presently members of the Union, shall as a condition of employment, remain members of the Union. All employees of the bargaining unit, whether members of the Union or not, shall as a condition of employment, pay the regular monthly Union dues to the Union for the term of the Agreement. 2.03 The Company further agrees that all new employees hired subsequent to the effective date of this Agreement shall, as a condition of employment within thirty (30) shifts from the date of employment, become and remain members of the Union. Shareholders shall not become members of the Union, but shall be required to participate according to 2.02 above. 2.04 Dues authorization forms will be signed at time of hiring, the Company agrees to deduct Union initiation fees, dues and assessments from the wages of each employee and to transmit the monies so collected to the Secretary-Treasurer of the Union, once monthly, together with a list of employees from whom such deductions have been made.
