All nurses who as of January 1st, 1983 are not union members shall not be required to become members as a condition of employment. UNION SECURITY AND REPRESENTATION. 501 All nurses who on the date of January 1st, 1983 are union members in good standing or may become union members in good standing shall, as a condition of employment, maintain union membership. All nurses who as of January 1st, 1983 are not union members shall not be required to become members as a condition of employment. All new nurses hired as of January 1st, 1983 shall, as a condition of employment, become union members within thirty (30) days from the date of employment and shall, as a condition of employment, remain union members in good standing. A nurse who chooses to complete the Union Membership Form shall forward the completed Union Membership Form to the Local President. 502 The Employer agrees to deduct union dues and the amount of any special general assessment in arrears upon receiving written authorization from the Union, and the Union agrees that all nurses to which the foregoing applies shall be given advance notice of the requested adjustment; and the Union further agrees to make refunds to nurses in the event of an overdeduction of dues. 503 When a nurse makes known to the Employer or the Union that she/he is a member of a religious group which has as one of its articles of faith the belief that members of the group are precluded from being members of or financially supporting any union or professional association, the matter shall be dealt with in accordance with section 76(3) of the Labour Relations Act of Manitoba. 504 The Union shall notify the Employer in writing of any change in the amount of dues at least one (1) month in advance of the end of the pay period in which the deductions are to be made; however, such change shall not be made more frequently than once in a twelve (12) month period. 505 The Union shall indemnify and save the Employer harmless from any claims from nurses covered by this Agreement as a result of dues or special general assessments having been collected deducted by the Employer and remitted to the Union. 506 The Union shall provide the Employer with a list of officers and nurse representatives of the Union, and shall provide the Employer with a revised list within four (4) weeks of any changes made. The Employer also agrees to notify the Union within four (4) weeks when there are changes to relevant management positions. 507 Union activities other than those provided for in accordance this Agreement shall not be conducted during the hours of duty of any nurse. 508 If required in relation to the renewal of this Agreement or any new Agreement which may be negotiated as herein provided, one (1) nurse representative shall be granted paid union leave to participate in negotiations in which both the Employer and the Union are represented. It is understood that the Manitoba Nurses’ Union will reimburse the Employer for salary, benefits and related payroll costs. 509 Copies of this agreement shall be provided by the Union. 510 The Employer shall allow the Union to install its own bulletin board on the Employer's premises and shall further allow the Union to post notices concerning matters that are of a direct interest to the Union and the Nurses covered by this Collective Agreement. The location of the bulletin board shall be mutually agreed to between the Employer and the Union. All notices must be approved by the Site Manager or designate prior to posting, which approval shall not be unreasonably withheld. The Employer reserves the right to request the removal of posted material if considered damaging to the Employer and the Union agrees to comply with this request. 511 The Employer agrees to show on the income tax (T-4) slip of each nurse, the total amount of union dues deducted from her/his earnings and remitted to the Union. 512 A representative of the Union shall be granted not more than twenty (20) minutes during the orientation period in order to familiarize nurses in the bargaining unit with the general conditions and responsibilities with respect to this Collective Agreement and to the Union. A management representative may be present during this period. 513 No nurse shall be required to make a written or verbal agreement with the Employer which may conflict with the terms of this ArticleAgreement.

The Employer reserves the right to request the removal of posted material if considered damaging to the Employer and the Union agrees to comply with this request. 511 The Employer agrees to show on the income tax (T-4) slip of each nurse, the total amount of union dues deducted from her/his earnings and remitted to the union. 512 During an orientation shift, a representative of the Union shall be granted up to thirty (30) minutes in order to familiarize nurses in the bargaining unit with the general conditions and responsibilities with respect to this Agreement and to the Union. A management representative may be present during this period. 513 No nurse shall be required to make a written or verbal agreement with the Employer which may conflict with the terms of this agreement, in accordance with section 72(1) of the Labour Relations Act of Manitoba.

Copies of this Agreement shall be provided by the Union, and the Union will supply a copy to each nurse at the time of hiring unless otherwise agreed between the Employer and the Union. A suitable notice board or notice board space for the use of the Union will be provided by the Employer. Such notice boards shall be located in each building within the site where members of the bargaining unit are regularly employed. The Employer reserves the right to request the removal of posted material if considered damaging to the Employer and the Union agrees to comply with this request. The Employer agrees to show on the income tax slip of each nurse, the total amount of union dues deducted from earnings and remitted to the Union. A representative of the Union shall be granted not less than thirty (30) minutes during the orientation period in order to familiarize nurses in the bargaining unit with the general conditions and responsibilities with respect to this Collective Agreement and to the Union. The Employer shall forward such dues to the Manitoba Nurses’ Union by the 15th day of the following month together with a list of the names of nurses from the facility (first, middle and last name) for whom deductions have been made including the amount of the deduction and a list of the names of all nurses newly hired/terminated/terminated or the names of the nurses on a leave of absence for a period of four (4) weeks or longer. Electronic copies of the lists will be provided provided. Annually, upon written request, a list including the name, address and telephone number of each nurse currently in the bargaining unit shall be sent to the Union. This information may only be used by the Union for the purpose of communicating with specifications as per attached memorandumits members. The Union commits to have in place reasonable administrative and physical safeguards to ensure the confidentiality and security of this information in accordance with F.I.P.P.A. The Employer also agrees to deduct once annually the amount of any special general assessment made by the Union. The Union shall notify the Employer, in writing, of the amount of the assessment at least one (1) month in advance of the end of the pay period in which the deductions are to be made. The Employer agrees to provide each newly hired nurse with a Union Membership Form at the time of hiring. The Employer also agrees to notify the Union within four (4) weeks when there are changes to relevant management positions. 507 Union activities other than those provided for in accordance this Agreement shall not be conducted during the hours of duty of any nurse. 508 If required in relation to the renewal of this Agreement or any new Agreement which may be negotiated as herein provided, one (1) nurse representative shall be granted paid union leave to participate in negotiations in which both the Employer and the Union are represented. It is understood that the Manitoba Nurses’ Union will reimburse the Employer for salary, benefits and related payroll costs. 509 Copies of this agreement shall be provided by the Union. 510 The Employer shall allow the Union to install its own bulletin board on the Employer's premises and shall further allow the Union to post notices concerning matters that are of a direct interest to the Union and the Nurses covered by this Collective Agreement. The location of the bulletin board shall be mutually agreed to between the Employer and the Union. All notices must be approved by the Site Manager or designate prior to posting, which approval shall not be unreasonably withheld. The Employer reserves the right to request the removal of posted material if considered damaging to the Employer and the Union agrees to comply with this request. 511 The Employer agrees to show on the income tax (T-4) slip of each nurse, the total amount of union dues deducted from their earnings and remitted to the Union. 512 A representative of the Union shall be granted not more than twenty (20) minutes during the orientation period in order to familiarize nurses in the bargaining unit with the general conditions and responsibilities with respect to this Collective Agreement and to the Union. A management representative may be present during this period. 513 No nurse shall be required to make a written or verbal agreement with the Employer which may conflict with the terms of this ArticleAgreement.

UNION SECURITY AND REPRESENTATION. 501 5.01 The Employer Company shall d educt Union dues including, where applicable, initiation fees and assessments, on a weekly basis, from the total earnings of each employee covered by this agreement. The amount of dues shall be calculated in accordance with the Union’s Constitution. All dues, initiation fees and assessments shall be remitted to the Union forthwith and in any event no later than 15 days following the last day of the month in which the remittance was deducted. The remittance shall be sent to the International Secretary Treasurer of the United Steelworkers of America, AFL-CIO-CLC, P.O. Box 13083 Postal Station ‘A’, ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ ▇▇▇ ▇▇▇ in such form as shall be directed by the Union (if the collective agreement does not have the International Union as the party then the word “Union” should be changed to the “International Union”) to the Company along with a completed Dues Remittance Form R-115. A copy of the Dues Remittance Form R-115 will also be sent to the Union office designated by the Area Coordinator. The remittance and the R-115 form shall be accompanied by a statement containing the following information: The Company, when preparing T-4 slips for the employees, will enter the amount of Union dues paid to the employee during the previous year.
5.02 In event that Union dues are increased during the term of this Agreement, the Company shall be given fourteen (14) days' prior notice.
5.03 The Union shall indemnify and save harmless the Company, including its agents and employees, from any and all claims or actions, brought by an employee arising out of or in any way related to the deductions made in accordance with this article.
5.04 The Company agrees that upon receipt of written authorization, it will deduct the initiation fee from the wages of an employee joining the union after the ratification of this Agreement.
5.05 All employees as of the signing of this Collective Agreement who are members of the Union, and all employees who become members after such date, shall remain members of the Union.
5.06 The Company agrees to deduct an amount equal recognize employees of the Company (excluding probationary employees), elected or appointed as Stewards to deal with matters under the current Union dues as directed in writing by the Manitoba Nurses’ Union from each nurse scope of this Agreement. There shall be a maximum of one (1) ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ for every twenty-five (25) employees in the bargaining unit, whether a member of the Union or not. Such letter shall include any dues exemptions. 5.07 If an employee so desires, he will be accompanied by a ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ when being interviewed by a management representative relating to deduct union dues and any form of disciplinary action by the amount of any special general assessment in arrears upon receiving written authorization from the Union, and the Union agrees that all nurses to which the foregoing applies shall be given advance notice of the requested adjustment; and the Union further agrees to make refunds to nurses in the event of an overdeduction of dues. 503 When a nurse makes known to the Employer company.
5.08 No ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ or the Union that she/he is a member of a religious group Union committee shall leave his post of duty during his normal working hours to discuss grievances with employees and/or Union Representatives without first receiving permission from his immediate Supervisor. This permission will not be unreasonably withheld. The Supervisor shall provide where necessary relief and such relief shall be within a reasonable period of time. If the ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ must enter another department he shall advise the supervisor of that department of his presence on union business. The Company agrees to pay the regular hourly rate for time so spent, or for time spent in meeting with the Company.
5.09 The Company shall provide a bulletin board for the use of the Union upon which has the Union shall have the right to post notices relating to matters of interest to the Union and the employees. The contents of such notices shall not contain anything detrimental to Company interests.
5.10 The Business Agent or other known Executive of the Union may make arrangements with the Plant Manager or his appointee to enter the plant during business hours to interview employees for the purpose of hearing grievances. It is understood that such visits will be timed to cause as one little disruption as possible to the normal conduct of its articles business. It is further understood that Representatives of faith the belief that Union will comply with Company regulations and restrictions.
5.11 The Company agrees to recognize a Negotiating Committee of up to six (6) employees, all members of the group are precluded from being bargaining unit, for the purpose of negotiating amendments to this Collective Agreement. Providing sufficient notice is received, time off without pay will be granted to members of or financially supporting any union or professional associationthis Committee for preparation and negotiating purposes.
5.12 It is understood that the Company may need to sub-contract work, but the matter shall be dealt with in accordance with section 76(3) Company agrees to restrict the hiring of sub-contractors to perform such work on the Labour Relations Act of Manitoba. 504 The Union shall notify plant premises to those instances where the Employer in writing of any change in the amount of dues at least one (1) month in advance of the end of the pay period in which the deductions are to be made; however, such change shall work cannot be made more frequently than once in a twelve (12) month period. 505 The Union shall save the Employer harmless from any claims from nurses covered performed by this Agreement as a result Bargaining Unit employees due to unavailability of dues qualified personnel, inappropriate skills, cost effectiveness, safety considerations, or special general assessments having been collected in accordance with the terms of this Articlewithin required time limits.
