Union Stewards and Official Representatives. The County and Unions agree that professional, productive, and positive labor relations can be accomplished when Union and County representatives work together to support the services we provide to the public. To support this philosophy, the parties have agreed to the provisions regarding attendance at meetings and handling of meetings. Paid release time is intended to support the collaboration and cooperative spirit of labor relations by ensuring that Union members have access to resources designed to help support their continued success as public employees and that Union leads have an opportunity to work together to support the success of their members.
Union Stewards and Official Representatives. 3.1. Attendance at Meetings (1) Formally meet and confer or consult with management on matters within the scope of representation; (2) To be present at hearings where matters within the scope of representation are being considered; (3) To testify or appear as the designated representative of the Union in settlement conferences, hearings, or other proceedings before the Public Employment Relations Board, in matters related to unfair practice charges; or (4) To testify or appear as the designated representative of the Union in matters before the Civil Service Commission. The use of official time for these purposes shall be reasonable and shall not interfere with the performance of County services as determined by the County. Such repre- sentatives shall submit written requests for excused absences to Employee Relations at least two (2) working days prior to the scheduled meeting whenever possible. Except by agreement with the Director of Human Resources, the number of employees excused for such purposes shall not exceed three (3) individuals at any one time. For the purpose of labor negotiations for a successor MOU, the number of employees excused shall not exceed four (4) individuals at any one time.

  • Official Representatives 18. The Association may select as many as five (5) members of the Association to attend during regular duty or work hours without loss of compensation, meetings scheduled with the Civil Service Commission, the Department of Human Resources, the Director of Employee Relations, or designee, when such meetings have been scheduled for the purpose of meeting and conferring on matters within the scope of representation affecting such appropriate unit, and to participate in the discussions, deliberations, and decisions at such meetings. 19. Release time shall be provided for MEA representatives to participate in disciplinary meetings, grievance meetings, meet and confer sessions and other labor relations matters with the City. Release time shall not be withheld unreasonably. 20. In scheduling meetings, reasonable consideration shall be given to the operating needs and work schedules of the particular employee's and representatives' department(s). 21. No representative may leave the duty or work station without specific approval of his supervisor. 22. Representatives shall be responsible for the performance of their work load consistent with release time approved pursuant to rules established herein.

  • Visits by Union Representatives 9 The County agrees that accredited representatives of the American Federation of 10 State, County and Municipal Employees, AFL-CIO, whether local Union representatives, 11 Staff Representatives, or International representatives, upon reasonable and proper 12 introduction, shall have reasonable access to the premises of the County at any time 13 during working hours to conduct Union business. The Union agrees that such visits will 14 cause no disruptions or interruptions of work.

  • Publicity, Media and Official Enquiries 22.1 Without prejudice to the Authority’s obligations under the FOIA, neither Party shall make any press announcements or publicise the Contract or any part thereof in any way, except with the written consent of the other Party. 22.2 Both Parties shall take reasonable steps to ensure that their Personnel comply with clause 22.1.

  • Union Representatives Upon mutual agreement of the parties, the number may be altered from time to time. Where a Union Representative commences on an extended leave of absence, the Union will endeavour to find a temporary replacement for the Union Representative from within the Home.
