Common use of Union Time Off Clause in Contracts

Union Time Off. Authorized stewards shall be paid for time actually lost during working hours in attending grievance meetings with the City representatives. Stewards will be permitted to leave their jobs, upon request, and after receiving approval of their immediate supervisor, for the purpose of investigating a grievance in their assigned area. Such stewards shall report to his supervisor upon completion of his investigation. This right to receive pay for time lost shall not be abused. The department will furnish cards or forms to maintain a record o the time spent hereunder.
