Unmanned Aircraft Systems Clause Samples

The Unmanned Aircraft Systems clause governs the use, operation, and regulation of drones or similar aerial devices within the scope of an agreement. It typically outlines requirements such as obtaining necessary permits, adhering to safety protocols, and complying with applicable laws and regulations when operating unmanned aircraft. This clause serves to ensure that all parties use such systems responsibly, minimizing legal and safety risks associated with drone operations on or near the project site.

Unmanned Aircraft Systems. Terminology, Definitions and Classification aims to be consistent with NATO doctrine.83 This document offers guidance on the use of common terminology. Nevertheless, it needs to be understood that the terms used in this Joint Doctrine Note are guidance only. The terms Remotely Piloted Air System (RPAS) and Remotely Piloted Aircraft (RPA) have been adopted by the RAF and USAF.84 It is not the aim of this thesis to argue what terminology should be used. However, there is no consistency at all within the wider military and academic community; even the term UAV seems to evade a consistent definition, with a 82 Unmanned Aircraft Systems Roadmap: 2005 - 2030, p.1.
