Usage of Compensatory Time. A. An employee shall not be directed by Management to take compensatory time off without at least ten (10) business days prior notice nor be denied a timely request to carry over. Requests for time off will be approved based on the needs of the service as determined by Management. B. Effective with the implementation date of the October 1, 1991, September 30, 1994, MOU, with prior approval of Management, new accumulated compensatory time off not used during the calendar year in which it is earned may be carried over for up to two years not to exceed 240 hours of new accumulated compensatory time. Compensatory time not used within the above period shall be paid to the employee at the straight time rate rather than lost. C. Compensatory time off earned prior to implementation of the October 1, 1991, - September 30, 1994, MOU can only be taken off at the straight time rate and be carried over to the end of the following year. Any compensatory time off not taken by the end of the year following the year it was earned will be paid at the straight time rate rather than lost.
