Common use of Use of Accrued Leave Clause in Contracts

Use of Accrued Leave. Employees will be required to use his/her sick leave when absent on approved FMLA. Employees have the option, but shall not be required to use annual leave during this leave. Upon exhaustion of the paid leave, any portion of the remaining twelve (12) work weeks of leave available under the FMLA, if any, will be unpaid. The sick leave and annual leave used is counted as part of the twelve (12) week period.
