Use of Apprentices. (a) The Unions agree to cooperate with the Contractor in furnishing apprentices as requested up to the maximum percentage permitted by law. The apprentice ratio for each craft shall be in compliance, at a minimum, with the applicable provisions of the Labor Code relating to utilization of apprentices. In the event the Union or Apprenticeship Program is unable or unwilling to dispatch a sufficient number of apprentices, other non-journeyman classifications may be utilized at the Contractor's discretion as part of the ratio of apprentices, to the extent that the applicable Schedule A and applicable law permits. (b) The Parties agree that all Contractors will comply with all applicable laws and regulations in the request for dispatch and employment of apprentices. (c) The Parties agree that apprentices will not be dispatched to Contractors working under this Agreement unless there is a journeymen or other Contractor employee working on the Project where the apprentice is to be employed who is qualified to assist and oversee the apprentice's progress through the program in which he is participating.
