Use of Private Vehicles. Employees who are required to utilize their automobiles for City business and who, pursuant to prior written authorization of their Department Head, are using their automobiles for transporting clients, shall be covered by insurance provided by the City in case of injury or liability to the client by virtue of the authorized employees' non-negligent operation of the vehicle.
Use of Private Vehicles. Whenever practicable, State-owned or contracted vehicles shall be made available to ASF Members required to travel on behalf of the Employer. The Employer may elect to allow ASF Members to utilize personal vehicles on a case-by-case basis and reimburse the mileage resulting at the rates provided under the travel regulations. Teachers who may be required to use their own automobiles in the performance of their duties, and teachers who are assigned to more than one (1) school per day, shall be reimbursed for all driving done between arrival at the first location at the beginning of their workday and departure from the last location at the end of their workday. Teachers who may be required, in the performance of their duties, to travel out of Bay County shall be reimbursed for the use of their private automobile up to a maximum as provided by Florida Statutes for Public Employees, provided other county transportation is not available or rental automobiles are not required. All other expenses (meals, travel, lodging, etc.) will be reimbursed in accordance with the provisions of Florida Statutes for Public Employees. Such reimbursement shall be received by the teacher within thirty (30) days of submitting a complete and accurate request.

Each employee so authorized shall have completed applicable County authorization requirements governing County driver permits and insurance. Employees not having completed such requirements and thereby not on the listing shall be neither required nor authorized to use their private vehicles. b) Employee whose vehicle is damaged in a collision with another vehicle while driving a personal vehicle on County business shall, following the approval of the Accident Review Board, be reimbursed for such damage not to exceed five hundred dollars ($500.00) provided: 1. The driver of the other vehicle is responsible for the accident as verified by a police report and the damages shall be unrecoverable from the other party by reason of lack of liability insurance, or 2. The damage is caused by a hit-run or unidentified driver as verified by a police report, or 3. The amount of damage to be reimbursed by the County is not recoverable under any policy of insurance available to the employee. The County shall be subrogated to the employee's rights of recovery from the responsible party.
