Utility Models. 1. State Parties shall provide protection for utility models. 2. The provisions of paragraph 1 of this Article shall in no way prejudice the right of State Parties to provide exceptions and limitations to the rights conferred by a utility model consistent with intellectual property treaties to which they are parties. 3. State Parties may, subject to their capabilities, make available technical assistance to micro, small and medium enterprises or individual entrepreneurs, with special consideration to women, youth and persons with disabilities, in various manufacturing fields to effectively utilise utility models. 4. State Parties shall comply with additional obligations set out in an Annex to this Protocol on Utility Models, to be developed in accordance with Articles 40 and 41 of this Protocol.
