Common use of Utilization of Sick Leave Clause in Contracts

Utilization of Sick Leave. Paid sick leave shall not be taken prior to the time 28 of its accrual and shall only be taken upon prior approval of the County. Sick leave may only be 29 utilized for employee sickness, sickness in the employee's immediate family residing with their 30 (except in the case of children, step-children, parents, step-parents, and current parents-in-law, in 1 which case there will be no residency requirement), necessary doctor's appointments, injury, 2 disability, pregnancy, or for quarantine by health authorities or a physician. Employees may be 3 required to supply proof of sickness, injury or disability. If an employee is sent to a physician of 4 the County's choosing for such purpose, the County will pay the expenses thereof. Utilization of 5 sick leave will be implemented according to the following definitions:
