Voluntary Lay Off. A. In the event of a reduction in force, an employee may volunteer to be laid off. Such a voluntary lay off will be granted if mutually agreed upon by the Company and the Union. B. Voluntary layoffs will last for a minimum of ninety (90) calendar days except in the case where the Company needs an employee to return to work prior to the expiration of ninety (90) calendar days. C. At the end of ninety (90) calendar days of voluntary lay off, senior employees will be given an opportunity to return to work if work is available, or they may volunteer for an additional thirty (30) calendar days of voluntary layoff. D. This process of continuing voluntary lay off will continue in thirty (30) calendar day increments until the employee returns to work.
