Wage Scales and COLAs Sample Clauses

The "Wage Scales and COLAs" clause establishes the structure for employee pay rates and outlines how cost-of-living adjustments (COLAs) are applied. Typically, this clause details the specific wage levels for various job classifications and describes the formula or schedule for periodic increases based on inflation or changes in the cost of living. By providing a clear framework for wage progression and automatic adjustments, the clause ensures fair compensation over time and helps protect employees' purchasing power against inflation.

In subsequent years of the collective bargaining agreement, the Parties agree to revisit the Wage Scale as follows: 1. April 1st, 2022, the Parties will engage in a wage scale reopener regarding the economic value of the formula agreed to by the Alliance and the Union, to apply funds towards a COLAs as of May 1st, of 2022. The Parties will remove any classifications that are no longer in effect and include any classifications that were unintentionally left off the wage scale for existing bargaining unit employees.
