Week End Shifts. As business needs may require the introduction of a weekend shift may be implemented. The shift shall consist of three consecutive days of twelve (12) hours each to either, Friday, Saturday and Sunday or Saturday, Sunday and Monday. This shift provides for 12 hours of work inclusive of three (3) fifteen (15) minute paid breaks and exclusive of an unpaid 30 minute lunch break. Employees on this shift shall receive forty (40) hours pay at the employee’s regular straight time rate of pay upon completion of 36 hours work. For clarification, the company agrees that they will pay the above four (4) hour premium in increments of 1 1/3 hours per 12 hour shift, however in order to qualify the employee must have worked at least half of their 12 hour shift. The basis of payment for statutory holidays for employees on such weekend shift shall be twelve (12) hours of pay. Eligibility for paid Short Term Disability for employees on such weekend shift shall commence after twenty four (24) hours of sick time. Provided an employee regularly scheduled a three (3) day twelve (12) hour shift shall be paid a premium of one and one half (1 ½) times their regularly hourly rate for all hours worked in excess of twelve (12) per day. For hours worked on the employee’s first, second or third scheduled day off paid at the rate of 1 ½ times their regular hourly rate and for the fourth scheduled day off at two (2) times their regular hourly rate. In the event the employee works a second consecutive of his regular scheduled days off, she shall be paid two (2) times his regular hourly rate of pay for the second day. For purposes of vacation pay, a forty (40) hour work week shall be considered the regular work week. Observation of Bereavement days shall be based on a regular scheduled shift of twelve (12) hours.

  • Hour Shifts When the Employer deems it necessary to implement a twelve (12) hour work day, affected employees shall be notified pursuant to Clause 14.05. The following Clauses shall be replaced or added to the Collective Agreement where appropriate.

  • Afternoon Shift (i) Afternoon Shift is any shift where the normal ceasing time is later than 6.00 p.m. but not later than midnight. (ii) The additional loading for ordinary hours only shall be twenty-five percent (25%) of the all purpose rate applying to the Employees' classification.

  • Work Day and Work Week The normal work day shall consist of up to 8 hours of work within a 24-hour period. The normal work week shall consist of up to 40 hours of work within a 7-day period.   • Workday and Workweek The regular workweek of a full-time employee in the bargaining unit shall be forty (40) hours and shall consist of five (5) consecutive days of eight (8) hours per day.

  • Work Shifts Employees shall be scheduled to work on regular work shifts having regular starting and quitting times. Except for emergencies (see Section D), employees' work schedules shall not be changed without written notice to the employee at least five (5) working days prior to the date the change is to be effective.
