Common use of Weekly Rate of Pay Clause in Contracts

Weekly Rate of Pay. (1) In respect of the period of parental leave taken by an employee who has not taken maternity leave, parental leave allowance payments will be equivalent to 93% of the employee’s weekly rate of pay for the first two weeks and for an additional 15 weeks, payments equivalent to the different between the employment insurance benefit the employee is eligible to receive and 93% of the employee’s weekly rate of pay. In respect of the period of parental leave taken by an employee who has taken maternity leave, parental leave allowance payments will be equivalent to the difference between the employment insurance benefit the employee is eligible to receive and 93% of the employee’s weekly rate of pay for 17 weeks.
