Common use of Work Out of Title Clause in Contracts

Work Out of Title. An Employee may be required to perform the duties of another position on a temporary basis for a reasonable period of time. For purposes of this Article, a reasonable period of time shall mean a period not to exceed 25 workdays. After 25 workdays, the individual performing the duties of another position in a higher grade will be paid at the rate applicable to that position, if the rate is higher than that of the Employee's regular position, until such time that the Employee is no longer performing the duties of that position in the higher grade. Any Employee required to perform a major portion of the duties of another position in a higher grade on a. permanent basis shall be promoted to such position. For the purposes of this section, the term "permanent basis" shall mean a period in excess of twelve months.
