WORKING AND SAFETY CONDITIONS. 8.1 The Company agrees to provide for its employees a high standard of working conditions and to strive constantly to prevent accidents and health hazards by every reasonable means. 8.2 The Union will co-operate with the Company to maintain good working conditions and will do its utmost to ensure that its members observe all safety rules. 8.3 Tools, gloves, overalls, smocks and rainwear will be supplied to employees on an exchange basis on the recommendation of their supervisor. 8.4 Subject to management’s discretion, part time Meter Readers and Park and Zoo employees requiring identification will be supplied with uniform clothing. 8.5 In extreme weather, outside staff will be assigned alternate work. No time will be lost on account of adverse weather conditions. 8.6 There will be a ten minute break period morning and afternoon for all employees who work more than two consecutive hours. The actual time at which the break is to be taken is at the supervisor’s discretion. 8.7 The Company will contribute a maximum of sixty dollars ($60.00) per year toward the cost of approved safety footwear for an employee who regularly operates the insertion machine.
