ALTERNATIVE WORK SCHEDULE AGREEMENT
Alternative Work Schedule Agreement • April 4th, 2018

On Feb. 27 and 28, 2018, employees in Non-Exempt work unit of National Technology and Engineering Solutions of Sandia, LLC (NTESS) voted by at least a two-thirds majority to implement a new alternative work schedule (AWS). I, the undersigned employee, therefore agree to abide by this AWS and will work either four (4) days of ten (10) hours, if working the 4/10 schedule; four (4) days of nine (9) hours and one (1) day of four (4) hours in each workweek, if working the 9/80 schedule; or five (5) days of eight (8) hours if working the Standard schedule. The workweek will vary depending on the start time chosen by the employee. The 4/10 means the employees work either 10 hours Monday – Thursday each week or 10 hours Tuesday – Friday each week. The 9/80 means employees work 9 hours Monday – Thursday each week and 8 hours every other Friday. The Standard schedule means employees work 8 hours five days a week.

The granting of this “alternative work schedule” is based upon mutual agreement and is approved based upon operational criteria (workload). The undersigned employee understands that: 1) this new schedule does not affect the earning of benefits (sick leave and vacation computed on months and years of service); 2) deduction of vacation, sick leave, or compensatory time (if applicable) is based upon the actual shift (work day) being worked (i.e., 10-hours work day); 3) overtime, if applicable, will be computed based upon hours worked in excess of the employee’s normal work shift; and 4) if the operational needs/work load dictates, management may revoke this agreement and return the employee to a normal schedule of five eight hour work days.
