In order to obtain credit for LBST D594 Directed Readings or LBST D596 Independent Research, you must have this contract filled out and signed by the faculty member with whom you are working and see that it is returned to the MLS Office by the end of the first week of classes. To obtain credit you are required to maintain a high level of performance (a minimum grade of B-) and do graduate-level course work such as primary source readings, research papers, oral presentations, etc. The assignment of a final grade serves as verification by the instructor that the contract was completed as agreed. No more than six hours of credit in D594/D596 count toward graduation.

In order to obtain credit for an Honors course that is a traditional course, you must have this contract filled out and signed by the faculty member teaching the course. Please return this contract to the HonorsDirector or Assistant Director by the end of the first week of classesduring summer sessions and by the end of the second week of classes during fall/spring semesters. To obtain credit you are required to maintain a high level of performance (a minimum grade of B+) and do Honors-level course work such as extra primary source readings, a more extensive research paper, an additional oral presentation, etc. A final grade for the course should not be assigned until and unless the work outlined below is completed. The assignment of a final grade serves as verification by the instructor that the contract was completed as agreed.
