SUBJECT: Intergovernmental Agreement Amendment with Wasco County for Building Services AUTHORITY: ORS: OAR:
Intergovernmental Agreement Amendment • February 15th, 2024

The County Building Department has an existing intergovernmental agreement (IGA) with Wasco County for reciprocal building inspection services. Over the last couple of years, Mark VanVoast, County Building Official, has been filling in as Wasco County's Building Official. More recently, County field inspectors have been performing more inspections for Wasco County after they lost two inspectors. Plus, the latest Google project is starting and will continue for the next few years, which will require additional assistance by County inspectors who possess some key certifications. To address the current disproportionate share of service being provided by Hood River County Building staff, it is necessary to amend the existing IGA to more accurately account for the current situation, which will likely continue into the foreseeable future.
