Governmental or public entity definition

Governmental or public entity means the state and any of its departments, boards, agencies, instrumentalities, authorities, and commissions and any political subdivisions, including but not limited to counties, city and counties, municipalities, school districts, local improvement districts, law enforcement authorities, water, sanitation, fire protection, metropolitan, irrigation, drainage, or other special districts, and any other municipal, quasi-municipal, or public corporation organized pursuant to the constitution or other law, and any of the political subdivision's respective departments, boards, agencies, instrumentalities, authorities, and commissions.

  • Governmental or Regulatory Authority means any court, tribunal, arbitrator, authority, agency, bureau, board, commission, department, official or other instrumentality of the United States, any foreign country or any domestic or foreign state, county, city or other political subdivision, and shall include any stock exchange, quotation service and the National Association of Securities Dealers.

  • Governmental Body means any government or governmental or regulatory body thereof, or political subdivision thereof, whether federal, state, local or foreign, or any agency, instrumentality or authority thereof, or any court or arbitrator (public or private).

  • Governmental Entity means any national, federal, state, municipal, local, territorial, foreign or other government or any department, commission, board, bureau, agency, regulatory authority or instrumentality thereof, or any court, judicial, administrative or arbitral body or public or private tribunal.

  • Governmental Order means any order, writ, judgment, injunction, decree, stipulation, determination or award entered by or with any Governmental Authority.

  • Government Entity means (a) any federal, state, provincial or similar government, and any body, board, department, commission, court, tribunal, authority, agency or other instrumentality of any such government or otherwise exercising any executive, legislative, judicial, administrative or regulatory functions of such government or (b) any other government entity having jurisdiction over any matter contemplated by the Operative Agreements or relating to the observance or performance of the obligations of any of the parties to the Operative Agreements.
