Index Future definition

Index Future means a futures contract on the S&P 500 Index, as traded on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange.

Examples of Index Future in a sentence

  • If there is more than one Contract in relation to the Underlying Instrument, or in the case of Index Future CFDs in relation to the Underlying Instrument with the same Specified Date, we may close out whatever Contract we consider appropriate.

  • If there is no settlement price announced by the Futures Exchange for a Index Future on that day, the Administrative Trustee will use the most recently announced settlement price for such Index Future unless the Administrative Trustee determines that that price is inappropriate as a basis for the valuation of such Index Future, in which case the Administrative Trustee shall value such Index Future as described in paragraph (ii) below.

More Definitions of Index Future

Index Future means a cash-settled Exchange-traded futures contract pursuant to which the buyer and seller agree to pay or receive in cash the difference between the level of the Index on the Prompt Date and the level agreed in the Contract, multiplied by the Contract size, settled on the Settlement Business Day next following the Prompt Date and subject to daily marking to market in accordance with the Clearing House Rules and conforming to the other specifications prescribed by the Exchange;
