Initial processing definition

Initial processing means taking applications for medical assistance, assisting applicants in completing the application, providing information and referrals, obtaining required documentation needed to complete processing of the application, and assuring completeness of the information contained on the application. Initial processing does not include evaluating the information on the application and supporting documentation, or making a determination of eligibility.

Initial processing. ’ means taking applications, assisting applicants in completing the application, providing information and referrals, obtaining re- quired documentation to complete processing of the application, assuring that the information contained on the application form is complete, and con- ducting any necessary interviews. It does not include evaluating the infor- mation contained on the application and the supporting documentation nor making a determination of eligibility or ineligibility.

Initial processing means, in relation to primary agricultural products, any processing of an industrial nature of those products which could cause a defect therein;

Initial processing shall have the meaning set forth in Section 8.0.

Initial processing means all steps taken to prepare absentee ballots for tabulation, except for the reading of bal- lots by an electronic vote tallying system for the purpose of producing returns of votes cast. Initial processing includes, but is not limited to: Verification of the signature and post- mark on the return envelope; removal of the security enve- lope from the return envelope; removal of the ballot from the security envelope; manual inspection for damage, write-in votes, and incorrect or incomplete marks; duplication of dam- aged and write-in ballots; scanning and resolution of ballots on a digital scan voting system; and other preparation of bal- lots for final processing.
