Multiple Listing Service. A means for collecting and disseminating information about real property that is or has been for sale, including a means for real estate brokers to make offers of cooperation and compensation to each other. Multiple Listing Services may also include, without limitation, the provision of data processing, technical support, consulting, and other information technology services to real estate brokers and appraisers in connection with the sale and appraisal of real property.
Multiple Listing Service or “MLS” means a cooperative venture by which real estate brokers serving a common market area submit their listings to a central service which, in turn, distributes the information for the purpose of fostering cooperation in and facilitating real estate transactions.

Multiple Listing Service or "MLS" shall mean a facility through which Participants share information about real property listed for sale or rent, or that has been sold or rented, for such purposes as are permitted in the Members' MLS Rules and Regulations.

In the event of any inconsistency, the terms of the Rules will govern. The RAGPD MLS may modify the Rules at any time at its sole discretion. Subscriber: Any real estate broker, appraiser, or other real estate related business professional that purchases Multiple Listing Services from RAGPD directly. Subscriber Data: Data relating to real estate for sale, previously sold or listed for sale, including the Broker Reciprocity Database, and data relating to Subscribers, entered into the current system by Subscribers and RAGPD. RAGPD owns the Subscriber Data.
Multiple Listing Service is a means by which authorized Participants make blanket unilateral offers of compensation to other Participants (acting as designated buyer, transaction facilitators, transaction coordinators, or in other capacities defined by Rhode Island law), by which cooperation among participants is enhanced; by which information is accumulated and disseminated to enable authorized Participants to prepare appraisals, analysis, and other valuations of real property for bona fide clients and customers; by which Participants engaging in real estate appraisal contribute to common databases; and is a facility for the orderly correlation and dissemination of listing information so participants may better serve their clients and the public. Entitlement to compensation is determined by the cooperating broker’s performance as a procuring cause of the sale or lease.
