6.5 Students are to connect their device to the designated Department of Education wireless network only, listed as “NSWDET” or “DETNSW”. Students are NOT to connect their device to other wired, wireless or cellular networks whilst at school.
6.6 Students are NOT to connect any other device or hardware to the school wireless or wired network other than the device agreed upon within this BYOD agreement.
6.7 Students are NOT to use software, apps or hardware to scan or discover the network. This includes but not limited to:
(a) Intercepting traffic or data
(b) Gaining access or information on other devices than your own
(c) Modifying wireless and wired network configurations (d) Attempting to disadvantage other students or staff on the network
6.8 Students are NOT to create, participate in, or circulate content that attempts to undermine, hack into and/or bypass the hardware and software security mechanisms that are in place.
6.9 Students are NOT to share confidential data relating to accounts and passwords. Your student portal and email account must NOT be shared or used by another student
6.10 Students are NOT to use the network for non-academic related bandwidth intensive activities such as network games, downloading/uploading large files or serving as a host for such activities.

Students are not to connect their device to other wired, wireless or cellular networks whilst at school.
6.6 Students are not to create, participate in, or circulate content that attempts to undermine, hack into and/or bypass the hardware and software security mechanisms that are in place.
6.7 Upon enrolment into a New South Wales Government school, parental/carer permission was sought to allow the student to access the Internet at school based on the Department of Education policy ‘Student use of digital devices and online services’. Extracts are provided below. This strategy forms part of this ‘Bring Your Own Device’ Student Agreement.

(a) at school
