Annual Leave Selection. Annual leave selection procedures shall be designed and governed by the union and administered by the department. The parties agree the intent of this language is to continue the current procedure for granting leave until such time the union proposes a change.

Seniority for the purposes of selecting annual leave shall be determined by the bargaining unit employee’s date of hire (DOH) subject to operational needs when duties or skills allow. 2. The selection of the number of persons off duty on annual leave will begin no sooner than November 15 and completed no later than December 15, effective through the entire work period of the year next following and, where the pay period for the year end extends to the following year, through the first pay period to so carry over. 3. The distribution ratio for such employees shall be: One (1) slot for 10 or less employees Two (2) slots for 11-25 employees Three (3) slots for 26 or more employees One (1) additional slot for each additional 10 ECCT employees (C) Distribution as determined by 10.4.1 will be guided by the following: (1) Annual Leave slot for each shift assigned nine (9) or less employees Two (2) Annual Leave slots for each shift assigned ten (10) or more but less than twenty-three (23) employees Three (3) Annual Leave slots for each shift assigned twenty-three (23) or more employees (D) For the purposes of annual leave bids, shifts of ten (10) or fewer employees may be combined with another adjacent shift. The Bureau will designate which shifts shall be combined. (E) Before implementation, the Bureau will provide the Union a draft of the leave slot configuration for review and comment. If the Bureau and Union cannot agree on the distribution of the remaining slots they will be distributed to the shifts with the highest employee to annual leave slot ratio.
Annual Leave Selection. Annual leave shall be taken as requested by the employee, with the approval of the Fire Chief or his or her designee. Annual leave requests for forty-eight (48) hours or less must be made at least ninety-six (96) hours in advance of the start of the requested annual leave. The Fire Chief or his or her designee may grant annual leave with less than 96 hours in advance of the start of the requested Annual Leave on a case-by-case basis. Annual leave requests for greater than forty-eight (48) hours shall be approved on the basis of seniority with the DISTRICT in a bidding process to be conducted by the Fire Chief or his/her designee in December of each year for the next calendar year. The DISTRICT shall retain the sole discretion to establish and implement the bidding process. Any request for alterations to the annual leave schedule established by the bidding process must be requested of the Fire Chief or his/her designee and will be approved at his or her sole discretion. All approved leave during the bidding process shall be guaranteed. All annual leave requests submitted and approved more than thirty-one (31) days prior to the date of the leave are the responsibility of the District to cover for staffing. All annual leave requests submitted and approved less than thirty-one (31) days prior to the date of the leave are the responsibility of the person making the request to cover for staffing.
Annual Leave Selection. GENERAL 9.01 Annual leave as set out in article 9.02, Statutory Time and Accrued Time that will be selected shall be referred to as “annual leave” for the purposes of articles 9.04-9.
